I tried these two stripped screw extractors | The results are interesting
Testing Screw Extractors: A Comparative Review
When faced with two stubborn stripped screws, I decided to put two popular extraction tools to the test: the Bit Extractor set by ACIRNS and the Extractor Pliers by Workpro. The results of this experiment were nothing short of intriguing.
The Drill Bit Set: Pros and Cons
Using the largest bit from the ACIRNS Bit Extractor set on the first screw, I encountered a challenge due to the significant hole in the screw. Despite attempting to drill it down further, the bit seemed ineffective in dislodging the stubborn screw.
Moving on to the Extractor Pliers, the results were noticeably different. While the pliers struggled a bit at first, once I gripped it firmly in the middle, the screw loosened up easily. The larger hole in this screw made it a perfect match for the pliers, resulting in a successful extraction with minimal effort.
Extractor Pliers vs. Drill Bit: The Verdict
In contrast, the second screw with a smaller hole proved to be a different story. The Extractor Pliers couldn’t quite get a grip on it, leading me to try the drill bit extractor. Surprisingly, the smaller hole proved advantageous this time, allowing the bit to extract the screw effortlessly.
In conclusion, both the ACIRNS Bit Extractor set and the Extractor Pliers served their purposes effectively, with each excelling in different scenarios. Having both tools in your arsenal is beneficial, as they complement each other well in handling various stripped screw situations. Whether facing a large or small hole, these extraction tools prove to be valuable additions to any toolkit.
